TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The National University of Singapore (NUS) will open an undergraduate scholarship program in 2025 for international students from ASEAN member countries, excluding Singapore

The 2025 ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship program aims to offer financial aid for freshmen, covering subsidized tuition fees, a S$5,800 living allowance, a S$3,000 accommodation allowance, as well as a one-time computer allowance worth S$1,750. 

Quoting the official NUS website, the scholarship is awarded to candidates pursuing a full-time undergraduate program at NUS with an exception to students enrolled in the Concurrent Degree Programme in NUS Bachelor of Science and University of Melbourne Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. 

Eligibility Criteria for NUS 2025 ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship: 

  • Citizens of an ASEAN member country, including Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam (excluding Singapore)
  • Possess strong leadership qualities and potential 
  • Possess good co-curricular activities record 
  • Possess outstanding high school results 
  • Applying for admission to a full-time undergraduate degree program at NUS 
  • Not eligible for transfer applicants from local or overseas universities

Citing the official NUS website, here is some of the key information about the 2025 ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship program:

  • All eligible students applying for full-time undergraduate admission to NUS will be considered, but only suitable applicants will be invited to submit a scholarship application. 
  • Invited applicants are required to submit supporting requisites, namely a record of their co-curricular activity and other achievements. 
  • Invited applicants will be assessed based on the strength of their application. 
  • Shortlisted applicants will be informed of the selection interviews via email. 
  • Selection interviews will be conducted from January to July, with the outcomes projected to be available by mid-July.
