Bogor Police Arrest 3 Women Suspected of Promoting Online Gambling Through Instagram Accounts

TEMPO.CO, Bogor Regency – The Bogor Police have named eight suspects in four online gambling cases in the Bogor Regency, West Java, which were revealed since October 30, 2024.
Deputy Chief of Bogor Police, Kompol Adhimas Sriyono Putra, explained that three of the eight suspects are women who are suspected of promoting online gambling through their Instagram accounts.
The three female suspects, with the initials MR, S, and AK, are suspected of promoting online gambling by uploading links connected to online gambling sites on their Instagram Insta Story.
“By uploading the link, the suspects receive a fee ranging from Rp150,000 to Rp10 million per month for uploading once or twice a day,” said Adhimas, during a press conference at the Bogor Police headquarters in Cibinong, West Java, on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.
Meanwhile, the other five suspects with initials AP, ME, F, I, and H are online lottery gambling players. It is known that AP acts as a collector and receives money from the other four suspects, then places bets on online gambling sites.
“The site they use for betting is TVToto, using the account owned by suspect AP with the username jabul17,” Adhimas explained.
Adhimas elaborated that the three female suspects who promoted online gambling are charged under Article 45 paragraph (3) of the ITE Law Number 11 of 2024 with a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
Meanwhile, the online lottery gambling perpetrators are charged under Article 303 and/or Article 303 BIS of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
