TEMPO.CO, JakartaPrabowo Subianto will visit five countries on his first foreign visit as Indonesia’s president on Friday, November 8, 2024. Prabowo will visit China, the United States, Peru, Brazil, and the United Kingdom during his working visit.

The head of state also revealed his plan to stop at several Middle Eastern countries in the duration of his multi-country trip. 

“I will probably pay a visit to several Middle Eastern countries during my trip back to Indonesia,” he said, as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube on Friday, November 8.

Prabowo did not elaborate on his additional travel plans, nor did he mention which parts of the Middle East he intends to visit. 

The head of state received invitations to meet several world leaders during his overseas trip, including Xi Jinping and Joe Biden.

Prabowo, accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, embarked on his foreign visit this morning from Halim Perdanakusuma Airbase.

After he visits China and the U.S., Prabowo is also scheduled to attend the APEC Summit in Peru and the G20 Summit in Brazil.

During this visit, Prabowo will also meet with the British Prime Minister. Prabowo said his trip abroad is evidence of Indonesia being a respected nation.

“It’s perceived as necessary to invite Indonesia to bilateral and multilateral meetings,” he said. 

According to Prabowo, other countries await to hear Indonesia’s stance on crucial global issues. Therefore, Prabowo said he intends to maintain good relations with all friendly nations.
